How to hide Instagram Reels on iPhone
- Install BrainGuard from the App Store. It is free and needs iOS 17 or later.
- Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. On iOS 17, open Settings → Safari → Extensions.
- Tap BrainGuard and switch it on.
- Allow it to run on Instagram. Safari lets you choose which websites an extension may run on.
- Switch on Reels tab. Nothing is on until you switch it on.

Can I hide Instagram Reels on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari. Switch on Reels tab (removed from the bottom bar). Four more switches cover the rest of Instagram: Main feed, Stories tray, Explore and Suggested accounts.
Does it work in the Instagram app?
No. BrainGuard is a Safari extension for iPhone, so it works on Instagram in Safari, not in the Instagram app. Safari on iPhone is the only place it works.
What still works on Instagram?
DMs, search, your own posts, and any profile or post you visit directly. BrainGuard never touches them.
Does it block Instagram?
No. The page still works. It just stops starting a session for you. BrainGuard hides only what you switch on.
Does BrainGuard collect anything from Instagram?
