How to hide YouTube Shorts on iPhone
- Install BrainGuard from the App Store. It is free and needs iOS 17 or later.
- Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. On iOS 17, open Settings → Safari → Extensions.
- Tap BrainGuard and switch it on.
- Allow it to run on YouTube. Safari lets you choose which websites an extension may run on.
- Switch on Shorts shelf and Shorts tab. Nothing is on until you switch it on.

Can I hide YouTube Shorts on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari. Switch on Shorts shelf (the row that appears partway down the home page) and Shorts tab (the tab in the bottom bar). Five more switches cover the rest of YouTube: Home feed, Sidebar recommendations, End-screen suggestions, Comments and Trending.
Does it work in the YouTube app?
No. BrainGuard is a Safari extension for iPhone, so it works on YouTube in Safari, not in the YouTube app. Safari on iPhone is the only place it works.

Search, subscriptions, playlists, history, and anything you open by link. BrainGuard never touches them.
Does it block YouTube?
