How to hide X's For You timeline on iPhone
- Install BrainGuard from the App Store. It is free and needs iOS 17 or later.
- Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. On iOS 17, open Settings → Safari → Extensions.
- Tap BrainGuard and switch it on.
- Allow it to run on X. Safari lets you choose which websites an extension may run on.
- Switch on For You timeline. Nothing is on until you switch it on.

Can I hide X's For You timeline on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari. Switch on For You timeline (following becomes the default tab). Three more switches cover the rest of X: Trends, Who to follow and Media-tab autoplay.
Does it work in the X app?
No. BrainGuard is a Safari extension for iPhone, so it works on X in Safari, not in the X app. Safari on iPhone is the only place it works.
What still works on X?
Following timeline, lists, search, bookmarks and DMs. BrainGuard never touches them.
Does it block X?
No. The page still works. It just stops starting a session for you. BrainGuard hides only what you switch on.
Does BrainGuard collect anything from X?
No. It works on your iPhone, and only there. The extension has no network permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere, and there is no account, no sync and no analytics.
